You are correct, red and brown fascisms are the same. The great irony is that they pretend to be on the opposite sides of the spectrum, but they are not. They are both nationalistic (patriotic war), populistic (scapegoating some "elite" that is against the "small people" using some popular sentiment such as racism, etc.), autocratic (the state is owned by one political party tightly intertwined with oligarchs), and revolve around a charismatic Fuhrer. Maybe the only difference is the kind of philosophy they appropriate.

When I see those percentages, I think it's basically a worldwide phenomenon. Wherever I look, there are 25% of hardcore fascists believers (no matter the color), 25% of silent supporters, and the rest that does not want to go full fascists, but also does not want to remove the underlying causes that lead to it (so-called democratic forces). As you say -- a mess.

I just hope it doesn't turn into a worldwide civil war.
