Yes, there is nothing wrong with being gay, exactly as there is nothing wrong with having Down syndrome. And in both cases there is nothing that can be done about it. However, as we don't select people with Down syndrome as astronauts and into fields of work that don't mesh well with intellectual disabilities, being gay/queer definitely falls in the category of nonfunctional sexual orientations. Perhaps it's time to accept it.
