Yes, it's a valid distinction as far as my particular example goes. It was hard for me to conjure a similar image of interconnectedness of land and people by using a universal motif (such as Rainbow Serpent) while referencing the whole concept of Aboriginal songlines, so I went with that slightly inaccurate generalization.
