Yes, and the question is where does it come from and how to use it so it does not end in misguided concepts of "human as the lord of creation" etc. After all, you, too, say that there *is* a difference. I see it more in the vein in which I see the difference between organisms with echolocation and without. What you call ego has, then, just a different set of possible consequences. And of course, human interface also does not deal with echolocation per se :)
