Yeah, I got it. After all, we discuss this topic for a few years already. However, you don't engage in controlled folly because society would crumble otherwise. You engage in it because for people who cannot see past their roles any other form of interaction is disorienting and unsettling. Thus, not engaging in controlled folly in context of society that operates on social roles has the risk that you'll be considered legally insane, a laughingstock, or, in extreme case, a literal punch bag. In any case, you would end up on the short side of the social interaction stick.
Castaneda was never interested in social change. He advocated for creation of an exclusive domain, a small fenced off private kingdom that is untouchable by other kingdoms. Not the universal global "kingdom" where self-knowledge is the norm. He was concerned only with living as you please in a society that is hell-bent on making you comply. All in order to prepare yourself for consciously reaching a "spiritual realm" after death. Which is no different from Christian (and other) churches -- a walled off community that prepares for heavenly afterlife by strictly following a set of rules and beliefs. Yes, Castaneda’s church is extremely liberal and freestyle compared to others but still a church nonetheless. Well, thanks, but I have no interest in such BS.
And just as a side note -- e.g. Pygmies have no roles and concepts such as marriage or nuclear family and Piraha folks have e.g. no history beyond living memory. By which I mean to say that social roles you advocate for are pretty much arbitrary and utterly inessential for a functioning society.
