How so? To restate, "[a]s you may have noticed, [...] none of that enabled you to escape your inevitable death." And you will die one day. Thinking otherwise, "is precisely that mode of deluded, hubristic thinking [etc.]"

Reality does not conform to our what ifs or interpretations. It's the other way around. At least it should be. Otherwise our futile attempts to fit what obviously is into the confines of our wishes and expectations of what we think ought to be create the living Hell I mentioned.

And just for the record, I'm not talking about our "true nature" here, but even in that case the same applies.
