You are an illusion created by the operation of your biology.

Well, I, as a person with which I identified before realization, am certainly an illusion, only a running program, so to speak. So, in that regard they got it right. Also, all perceptions are illusions rendered out of quantum soup, which we essentially cannot verify as objective (I mean the quantum soup — it feels material but compared to what? thoughts?). It definitively has rules, however, Dennett is totally of the mark when he tries to completely deny consciousness and Self (for a lack of better word).

Now, we can argue whether Self (or Atman) is soul or not (famous dispute between Hindus and Buddhists) — I would say that there is something like a “instable membrane” that one just dashes right through that may evoke a notion of personal soul, I call it “a perfect multi-threading”— but from my point of view it’s a non-essential concern. Body-mind dissolves upon death and soul (if we decide to make that distinction) is pure consciousness indistinguishable (and inseparable) from its source, i.e. God (existing outwith time and space). With no attributes. So, no memories, no reincarnation, just existence and consciousness (and bliss — or lack of suffering ;).

Basically, nobody knows what the hell they’re talking about

You bet! What bothers me more, however, is that not even those who pledged to protect the knowledge know. But good luck trying to point it out. Well, at least we are not in 4 BC, otherwise I (and not only I) would be already dead. On the other hand, power structures have nowadays more sophisticated methods.

Then again, from the standpoint of who I really am (and who you really are), it’s all just a child’s play. Pastime of sorts. As I said, it will always be me who will be conscious of all. In other words we are literally one. I am one. “I” is one.

Did you ever wonder why there is only first person subjective perspective in this universe? ;)
