Well, AFAICT people in general actually dislike freedom and feel very uncomfortable when left without a “life manual.” Human beings simply crave to be told what to do and how to behave. Ironically, the “liberated human” is an egoist of the highest order (yet, dare I say, not selfish). But I get your point ;)
