“We need to decentralize everything.”
I would say that centralization in some areas makes perfect sense (power grid, tap water and sewage systems, and the like, but also e.g. area coordination). What does need to be decentralized (if not completely, then, at least, substantially) is the redistribution part of the equation, particularly products, and that's something even current trends gravitate toward. Then again, I can see (an almost) fully decentralized society, so that's just a very minor quibble on my part.
“The problem is what about trust”
Indeed. That's why my main focus is self-knowledge. I didn't talk about it in this article, but a good starting point is the understanding of human nature that comes with self-realization. It may sound weird, but while you cannot trust many people to do the right thing, you can at least always trust their conditioning. Current system incites people to leverage that trust to make others miserable and screw them up, but it can be used to push them toward positive outcomes equally well. While I, personally, am not a “trickster” – for me, respecting of the individual free will is paramount – there are shamans who operate in “trickster mode” pretty successfully while still maintaining high ethical standards. I think that that could be a viable way until absolute self-knowledge is established on a mass scale.
