Christianity was canonized in the Council of Nicea in 325 … We can’t blame Paul

We certainly can’t blame Saul for what Constantine and his friends canonized. But I think that his misguided theology based on an ephemeral blind faith could be used more easily to control the masses. Certainly easier than the gnostic approach (which I consider to be the original Christianity). After all, it’s easier to rule people when the central tenet is “Have faith in the vicar of Christ on Earth who knows the ways of God,” than, “Follow Christ, examine yourself and the world, and find out the truth for yourself.” So yes, we can blame Saul only for his hunger for power and twisting the original Christian message to suit that need.
