True and I agree that a lot of people would be surprised, shocked, afraid, perhaps also panicking and so on. But I have my doubts about calling it an "ontological shock." I would say that their worldviews would not shatter, they would adapt. People would simply incorporate aliens into their existing ontologies and go about their inanities as per usual.
