They are. But data is medium and mind is what happens when that information interacts with brain. It had to come full circle -- data->energy->matter->life->mind-life (for a lack of better word) -- to be even possible to speak of mind (and not because of the technicality of speech). In other words, you may say that God is mindless. But of course, everything is just states of the Same.
