That's quite a leap from the term "potential". Physics tells us that this "primordial" stage is pure information (or pure data, if you will), which is equivalent with energy and matter. That is, they are one and the same. And that's clear even from NRSV. As well as is obvious the subsequent, rather simplified, description of evolution as we know it (and which you rail against) that follows (i.e. geology -> plants -> animals -> humans).
