That heatwave in India is a good point, and I would say a combination of leveraging the emotional impact of such events (COVID, war in Ukraine with its worldwide fallout, rise of red and brown fascism all over the world, etc.) and active educational efforts are the way to go. Still, that is only a way to open the door, so to speak, and make people actually stop and listen.
I'm not bothered that much with your articles being behind paywall as I can access them to my heart's content, I was just trying to use that example to show how our small individual actions (which we oftentimes don't even consider) contribute to our collective output. After all, taking part in transactional economies is what fuels capitalism. And that's what needs to be "broken." (I.e. interrupt the habitual behavior.)
As for the time span, I'm afraid we don't have a decade for a paradigm shift. As I see it, ideally within a year, humanity should come to some consensus and seriously start implementing (and expanding on) existing solutions. We have them, we just squander resources and time on BS (as you also say, if I got it right).
In any case, I honestly hope you can find something usable to work with in those articles I linked to ;)
