I’m definitely seeing your book destined for Hollywood!

Thanks. To be honest, even though I was aiming for Tokyo TV, Animax, etc. (:D), when I see what Hollywood produces or what (comic-)books are being published today, deep down I think that with the help of a native English speaking editor (and maybe an illustrator) my novel had that potential (and not just as a quota filler). But —

After the third chapter (which you didn’t catch because, for the n-th time, I deleted my account soon after publishing it) I realized that it was more of a “proof of a concept” thing. I proved to myself that I could pull off (write and illustrate) a serial novel, while keeping up with the insane schedule of 1–2 chapters (ca 2000–4000 words + a page spread) a week.

I was always a pantser but could never finish a coherent story, and plotting things beforehand always made me lose interest since the story felt written. Heck, it took me circa 35 years to find the right amount of plot goalposts and setting elements while still leaving enough wiggle room to keep me excited about exploring that fictional world.

Another reason to scratch that project was the fact that it was just a somewhat clumsily dramatized biopic, so maybe “slice-of-life” would have worked better (it would be definitely easier to write). It also made me realize what a “friggin’ cool” life I had, and I guess, I’ll rather add another “live chapter” while I still can than write a glorified version of my own past. I always felt revulsion at self promotion — mm, but obviously not enough to desist from this lengthy post :D :D :D
