Tao can be also called karma, Akashic records, or simply causal streams that go all the way back to the Big Bang, that is to say, the birth of universe. Naturally, fighting that causality is futile -- smash a wall with your hand and there is a probability bordering on certainty that you will break it. I mean your hand, not the wall.
