Sure, we can stop this conversation at this point, I will, however, answer your question, "If they are different, why does Tao Te Ching use different words?"

If we didn't use different words, all we could say about anything is that "God Gods God's God", or "Tao Taos Tao's Tao." That is not exactly practical in terms of communication or day-to-day life. The quote you paraphrased ("Tao gives birth to one. One gives birth to two. Two gives birth to three. Three gives birth to all things and all beings," where "all things and all beings" are "the ten thousand things"), says the same as what Maharshi said, "World is illusory, only Brahman is real, Brahman is the world." That is, anything that Tao aka God aka Brahman produces does not stop being Tao aka God aka Brahman. So, you may say that God transcends form, but it's rather misleading, because when you look at a flower, it's God in the shape of you looking at himself in the shape of flower. God as such is not hidden, only his "unknowable true essence" appears different (when you look at golden jewelry you still see gold). And that "unknowable true essence" is knowable, too -- one simply should not be misled by forms and should transcend (or "climb over") the illusion (and yet, it is still God who transcends himself -- is he then transcendent?). This is also the reason why "you should have no other gods before Me" and "you should have no images of God."
