Radicalize Yourself

I mean it. Be a radical fundamentalist. Not that variety of hard-liner, however, who shoots or blows other people to pieces or turns inanimate objects to heaps of rubble, even though, the zeal is commendable.

Don’t wage war with the world. Wage war with yourself.

Frontal assaults, feints, terrorist guerrilla, even tactical retreats — engage and dismantle illusions of your self-image (aka ego). That’s the only war of conquest worth fighting. To quote Louisa M. Alcott, don’t “seek to conquer any world except the one within.

Just always keep in mind: while the war lasts, you never stop being a warrior, a soldier. You are at war when you eat. You are at war when you go to work. You are at war when you make sex and even when you try to sleep.

You cannot survive that fight without shedding all unnecessary fat and radically adhere to fundamentals. Well, even that cannot assure your survival — furthermore, you will die one day anyway — but your chances will go radically up. Obviously.

Anyway.

You must be uncompromisingly honest with yourself and accept what you see. There it all starts. On a second thought, perhaps it starts with a steadfast decision to take the time, stop and actually look. And ask even the unpleasant questions. Maybe especially those. The rest is only a question of what hill you are willing to die on. Those are the only fundamentals worth adhering to with radical discipline.

I imagine what you may think. However, if all those insecure imperial rulers, over-motivated religious and other ideological fanatics, or edgy wealth hoarders were actually radical and clung to fundamentals as they claim, they would not project their demons onto the world. They would know better. But since they in fact lack dedication and ardor, they bring their inner struggle outside and the cycle of misery goes on.

In essence, all those self-proclaimed radicals and fundamentalists are just (impressionable) wimpy conformists, who, literally, cannot keep their shit together. They make a bad name for true radical fundamentalists, which you should aspire to be, no matter how insane or dangerous it may sound. After all, the turbulence of Universe is just and fair.

In other words, and to put it very simply, the only war worth fighting is the war of self-knowledge — that’s the only war anyway — and, if you literally give it your all, you may have a chance to see the war come to an end.

Peace.
