Personhood is simply the notion of being an autonomous unit, no matter whether that notion is "self-recognized." Simply speaking, all units with perceptual world that gets cognized by first person singular "perspective" (that is to say, consciousness) are persons. What you are talking about is "peoplehood" or "humanhood" but certainly (and demonstrably) not personhood.
