One man's food is another man's poison. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, semantic meanings are what minds of living organisms do with raw universal data (i.e. information). So, I see semantic values as patterns intimately tied to particular species and individual (who does not necessarily have to be able to communicate, or even be aware of, the semantic construct itself).
With that being said, I have to add that raw universal data is already a “sorted set” and its distribution was determined from the very beginning of the manifested world. Then again, I must also stress that talking about beginning as being in the past when we still can e.g. observe almost the big bang itself is rather inaccurate.
