Neither. Both are identities and I refuse to be pinned down by Parasite through the ego into any category. It simply does not do justice to who I am. And such pinning down would also take away all freedom from this person here (as all identities do, after all).
But let me elaborate.
Since it will always be the same I who will perceive this world, it makes perfect sense to me to don't squander this chance and influence the streams of causality (or karma if you will) toward a state that won't force me to look at the universe through the eyes of an abused child, brainwashed adult, bitter old geezer or hag, etc. And frankly, even though I have all the time in the world, I rather hurry up.
Thus, being a martyr would be a waste, since I'd like to keep this person here going as far as possible. Thanos, on the other hand, was more of a natural force without agency, not able to make any free choices whatsoever, than a solution to anything at all (btw. Parasite has the same properties of a natural force as Thanos had, it simply does what Parasite is supposed to do -- but that's beside the point). So, the Thanos' way is a no go for me from the very beginning.
I understand your frustration, but this whole shifting of Humanity's direction is unfortunately (but also thankfully) a matter of one person at a time and there is also always their free will to consider. After all, everyone is already "enlightened" and the same as every so-called Messiah (I mean the bona-fide ones). Folks just don't know it. Yet.
And, as I assume you already know, that knowledge is also the only effective deterrent that works on Parasite. Therefore, it is very clear to me what are the choices and what to do with this body-mind at my disposal.
With all that being said, how can you be a dead man walking when you are not a man in the first place? You see a dead man walking, but that's an identity, too. Don't let it pin you down and don't listen to stupidities it whispers -- sure, there are no points, but that's neither here nor there. It is simply inconsequential. After all, what's the point of hopscotch?
