Know the Season
As I said many times before, we have never left Eden. We’ve just stopped seeing it and forgot. We look at the world and are blind, oblivious to the fact that the Kingdom of God — or Heaven, if you will — is that. Yet you can look in any direction, put your sight anywhere, and there it is. You can look within and you will find it there. Alas, death covers your eyes.
When you look at society today, everything is already poisoned. After all, we live in a “post-truth” world as the euphemism goes. Darkness prevails and there seems to be no trustworthy source to rely on, let alone a clear lodestar to point the way. Yet people call it “relativism” and feel smugly clever.
Clearly, everyone has already taken a firm position. There’s no one undecided — the wheat was separated from the chaff. By individual free choice I must add. So, as believers of various kinds doubled down on their idols and dogmas (some even pretending to be “the elect” or already “possessing gnosis”), those few intent on finding the unshakable truth were sealed as well. Everyone already got their respective mark as it were.
I sincerely doubt that, at this time, anyone can be swayed anymore. Hence also the perceived polarity and social division. Truly, even in a single house, “there will be three against two and two against three (Gos. Thom. 16).” Well, Earth seems to be ripe and “ready for harvest.”
Do you wonder that even “the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, [strive to hide] in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. [Calling] to the mountains and the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us’ (Rev. 6:15–16)”? Do you wonder that today even people who would laugh at such notions mere five years ago instinctively feel the approaching collapse, openly talk about it, and either desperately try to prevent it or at least avoid it by building some safe refuge for them?
Alas, faith won’t save you. Neither will work. At best, they just prepare the soil for the mustard seed of self-knowledge to take roots, sprout, and grow into a mighty tree that can even house the birds of heaven. Yet people don’t even know what are “their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts (Rev. 9:21),” because rationalizing self-deception can adapt to anything.
But for those who have ears to hear — just know that “when you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter the kingdom (Gos. Thom. 22).”
To put it differently, when you stop judging, go beyond distinctions and let what is be as it is, exactly as nursing babies do, you make yourself open for the truth to shine through. When you detach from the world in that you let it flow, when you keep non-doing of Shabbat as Shabbat should be kept (not as it is imagined and codified), then you will make yourself available to knowing the one who is called God who cannot be named.
Then you will also know that you are eternal, immortal, and always in Eden the same way you know warmth of Sun shining on your face. That is in turn the only real power that can give you the strength to take responsibility for the fact and to treat the kingdom accordingly. After all, all you do, you do to “I”.
When you see thus clearly, that’s when the Spirit rests upon you. Not a moment earlier. And only then you can go out into the world and “kill the powerful man,” only then the yeast will make dough into large loafs of bread that feeds many as if you were lending money at interest. That’s the only way to burn the error to ashes and restore (the knowledge of) what was always the case.
Wake up and see.
