Judging from our last conversation, I would guess that we use them exactly in reverse. That is, what you call awareness I call consciousness and vice versa. That being said, I call consciousness the universal first person perspective, the source of our "I-ness" and aspect of ontological basis (i.e. God, Brahman, etc.), awareness then being the mental "reflective" counterpart which can be manipulated either intentionally or involuntarily and which is rooted in brain (and through which we, as persons, derive our "I-ness").
