Indeed, not the mention that self-interest of monopolies (which do exists despite all the hand waving of politicians and economists) logically never translates to "collective flourishing," which is also the case with guilds (even unofficial) whose members' self-interested collaboration (price gouging, selective service accessibility, etc.), again, undermines the whole idea of "invisible hand." And that is true even, or perhaps especially, in small communities.
