I would say that the "field" is "embeded in the fabric of the universe" as an inevitable potential, and it manifests itself from that potential slowly taking shape and form as an evolutionary abstract, mental pattern as well as individual "rendering" based on personal experience. As above so below, throughout all layers.

But you are correct, not only Jung but essentially all literature on those topics is written so ambiguously as to be completely open to interpretation. I would ascribe it to insufficiency of language.

That's why I put such strong emphasis on experience. And honestly, during the years of my travels I didn't find any place that would not be in my mind. I'll gladly accept such an out-of-mind place when (and if) I encounter it, but the truth is that for now I know of no such place.
