I would go even further and say that God is all there is (all things and then some).
As for "in his image", it is not that off, if one does not identify with human image/perception: as above, so below -- as God "dreams" the world (with humans), so we as humans "dream" our individual renditions of that world (up to creating dream-worlds of our own when we sleep).
And of course, that "I am" each of us is intimately familiar with and which is the only subject there is, is the very same "I am" which God, who creates "in his image", identifies as when he introduces himself as "I am that I am".
