I won't go into explaining what's wrong with that quote. Suffice to say, enlightenment has nothing to do with learning but knowing and subsequent manifestation, i.e. realization. Knowing and learning are two vastly different "things". That being said, perhaps you should heed your own advice and stop listening to gurus (i.e. teachers, which means also those you quote). Know yourself and you are done. Each lifetime provides equal opportunity to do so, because you already are that which you search. Anyway, good luck on your journey ;)
