I think you are asking a wrong question. There's not one, "authentic to the best of human nature" reaction. Provided one is not confused, all reactions are authentic but preferential. Even the pretender is authentic in that he may not like his assumed reaction, but he likes his pretending. And maybe even the confusion can be said to be a choice. So yes, the One is self-loathing, horrified, as well as indifferent or ignorantly blissful -- you name it. How could it be otherwise? But those are all just arbitrary reactions of which none is better than the other. Peace, on the other hand, is a byproduct of non-reacting. Thus an enlightened person would be at peace and in opposition to aggrandizement of reactions that all vainly seek the ultimate approval and validation. Though that is, too, only a manner of speaking as an enlightened being would live his/her emotional reactions to the fullest without succumbing to them (i.e. not manifesting them out of habit but deliberately). But as I said, the actual "form" of an enlightened person is totally dependent on his/her traits and peculiarities.
