I share your sentiment, but money (and all that it represents) created this problem in the first place, and, as we know, you cannot fix something with what caused it to break. Not to mention that even if we decided to go with your solution, there would have to be a will to do so. Hence, a shift in thinking would have to come first. And when people would be able to shift their worldviews from superficial mammon, they would already understand that we could as well use simpler methods than the old economic/monetary ones.
