I never said there is some "deeper kind of consciousness." There's only one consciousness. The rest, which gets confusingly misinterpreted as one, is (self-)awareness and other functions of mind (therefore also terms such as "altered states of consciousness" and the like are pretty misleading and speak volumes about ignorance of the one who uses them). Thus the encounter you speak about would be merely consciousness meeting itself as various forms. Consciousness is not an object. It's that which knows them. Ironically objects *are* consciousness. Frankly, you may think your life away and you would not grasp it. You have to "see" it. Or better said, realize that you are *IT*.
