Good questions. I understand that the system looks good on the paper, and if executed in the intended way, it should work nicely. However -- factor in the meritocracy based on merely satisfying some one-size-fits-all formal conditions and ubiquitous ever-present profit and we are where we are today: teachers whose expertise is sorely lacking, teachers with strong religious beliefs, teachers mentally unprepared for dealing with large groups of people, etc. In other words, the blind. And sadly, that kind of educators is not an exception but a rule -- from elementary trough high school, to college and uni. Well, it's not a coincidence that there is that saying that those who don't know teach.
