Frankly, I could appreciate Jesus only after I found myself and understood what is actually meant by God, etc. By sheer accident, I must add because I come from a tradition that does not deal with absolutes per se (if "neo-shamanism" can be called a tradition at all) and which I approached more like psychology than anything spiritual (I'm still sort of an atheist). At least through that little yoga I practiced as stretching for years I discovered "Who am I?" inquiry so I tried it (because, why not). As I say, dumb luck. So, before the realization, Bible was an incomprehensible mishmash to me. Now, I can see the pearls buried there, but still, it's not the most comprehensible manual out there. But the same I can say about Buddhist lore and to an extent also Vedas.

As for religions -- well, no one can find truth within confines of organized thought. So that's that ;)
