First, let me say that Pentateuch uses the word "believe" only eight times and seven instances are used with regards to Israelites believing Moses. And then you have Habakkuk 2:14. Thus, it's clear as day that knowledge of God is the "end goal". Believing Jesus is in the same ballpark as believing Moses. So yeah, don’t let yourself be dissuaded from your quest for truth. God wants to be known.

When you want to draw parallels between Hinduism and Christian Trinity then Brahman is God, manifested human is Son, and personal knowledge of Atman being Brahman (which appears as its own manifestations as world) is Spirit. And this is almost science -- it is repeatedly verifiable by inquiring into the nature of your consciousness-existence (“I am”).
