The reason why absolute self-knowledge eliminates greed (and can serve as an organizing factor of society) is rather prosaic -- it brings an unshakable knowledge of interconnectedness and unity (not only of people but existence at large), it's a matter of fact like that the fire can burn you so you don't stick your hand into it; self-realization has similar effect (you realize as in "know" but are compelled also as in "act"):
