Damage Control
If you want change, keep up the pressure
Yesterday, after a long time, I switched on CNN only to catch Samuel L. Jackson saying something along the lines that all those young protesters have to be patient because change takes time, so they should be prepared to wait few years until their demands are met. Honestly, in that instant I lost even the little respect I still had for that man.
As it turned out, he’s just another Hollywood whore who will go two inches higher when he’s told to jump. After all, and as anyone who saw show biz from inside knows, that’s the way to became famous and rich. It’s also literally what actors are paid to do.
You may wonder why all these “harsh” words … well, it’s simple — Samuel is patently wrong. Radical changes in society happen within weeks or months, everything else is just buying time, and Mr. Jackson is obviously scared to loose his comfy chair on location (I don’t know if it’s his usual self, but he seemed pretty nervous in that interview).
Case in point — how long did it take for Trump to come up with and sign an executive order after Twitter fact-checked his tweets?
Thus, don’t let yourselves be lulled to sleep. That’s the usual tactic of the powers that be when the forceful means fail and the mighty realize that they are loosing ground, though the actual dynamic might be a bit more complex.
Which brings me to another point — for a long time I honestly thought that people at the top of the pyramid are cunning plotters.
However, the more I witness things, the more it becomes obvious that the higher in the hierarchy you go, the more incompetent and idiotic the people are. It’s sort of logical, because when you invest all your energy into climbing the totem pole, you obviously have no spare time to polish your other skills.
Well, we really are at the mercy of sheer madness and stupidity. We are ruled by inept opportunistic hustlers who use their money and connections (aka power) to shape the world how they see fit. There seems to be no higher motivation behind it at all. No wonder that sometimes we may find ourselves quite comfortable with enacted changes and sometimes we just stare in utter disbelief at the lunacy they try to shove down our throats.
For all I know, these folks may even have good intentions, but you know what is paved with them.
So, where we do we go from here?
It’s pretty simple. It’s enough if you don’t do harm, don’t cheat, don’t steal, don’t lie, and don’t covet. Neither directly, nor in complicity. That should give you enough power to reject the mark that seals you to the “beastly” system, aka money.
You can merely believe and take my word for it, but if you really want to know and understand why are those five don’t-s so essential, you may consider to take your time to accept the causality of manifested universe, see past everything you are not and reject all external crutches, in order to realize your true nature, which makes everything fall in place.
Now, that would be a true revolution.
