Cessation of individuality means that there will be no Jeff Hilles after Jeff Hilles dies and therefore no Jeff Hilles "to depart and be with Christ". You clearly believe that Jeff Hilles will continue as an individual after death (perhaps only in some different form). In other words, you never accepted absolute cessation of individual called Jeff Hilles, and your optimism is based exactly on the ideological misconceptions I've criticized.
