Because He's omnibenevolent and allowing sin as a specific consequence of a particular choice (e.g. rejection of God's existence and/or possibility of knowing Him) is beyond perfect. I mean, I cannot imagine a better, more just, or freer arrangement than the one there is, and which says: "You want to sin? Go ahead, the choice is yours, but be aware that it will have 'hellish' consequences." And of course, I am talking about God of the living, not of the dead. So, all talk about waiting for "the other side of the grave" is rather moot. An eternal and omnipresent God simply must be also here and now. And it is indeed so. That's the good news, Jeff.
