For someone who comes from a European nation that was predominantly on the receiving end of the historical shit, this was an interesting read. And I would guess, very specific to former colonial dominions. I wonder how this dynamic plays out in e.g. South America, where current-day countries were also (at least some AFAIK) founded on genocide. On the other hand e.g. being a white gaijin in Japan has its peculiarities too (or so I’ve heard).
