Apart from the fact that I, indeed, do what I do for free and don't consider it to be a job (I'm lucky enough to have people in my vicinity who, like me, share their resources), the question is not whether artist should be paid, but why is everyone so hung up on transactional relationships, even those who criticize them.

And of course, and especially in the case of authors who deal with "good news" and ask for money, there is always that image of Jesus sitting on Mount behind the fence and apostles collecting the entrance fee. Preferably, thirty pieces of silver.
