And yet, mitochondrial Eve and Y-chromosomal Adam (even if they most probably didn’t meet in space and time) are parents of all currently living humans. To me the question is — how did those people in desert almost 3000 years ago know of that? I fully agree with Colin Jay Treiber when he says, “human beings first need to gain a conscious understanding of our place within the cosmic order of being (which we are capable of).” The myth then emerges by itself. Also, I’m not sure whether we really need a new myth, it seems that in general they tell the same story (science being the most detailed, I guess).
