All what it says is that there exists a possibility of, or tendency towards, separating things as good and evil. It does not in any way say anything about existence of evil per-se. It's also no coincidence that this "knowledge of good and evil" (i.e. duality) in that story is what separates human from God and prevents people from actually seeing him. It's obvious.
