AFAICT, once you realize it, it stays. But you must bear in mind that we are simply talking about knowledge here. We are that which we search whether we know it or not. In essence, it's like tasting ice cream or sticking one's hand into the fire -- before one imagines, afterwards one knows without any doubt what ice cream and fire are about.
