"4 states of consciousness, deep sleep, dream, awake and turiya which is liberated. This last one is direct knowledge of divinity, the same as you know your own consciousness."
Turiya (literally "the fourth") is consciousness (Atman that is Brahman). In consciousness arise sensory perceptions (waking state), mental images (dream state), and (non-)awareness of absence of perception (deep sleep). Those three depend on the state of mind and can exists simultaneously (but that's beside the point). Hence there are no states of consciousness.
Knowledge of turiya then simply means to realize yourself, that is, consciousness. There is no other divinity. Your expectations are just that -- mental images of what you call divine.
